Regional Master in Journalism, Media and Communication NORAD Master Programme(NOMA) at Dhaka University (DU)


The Department of Mass Communication and Journalism,, University of Dahka invites application from suitable candidates for its second intake to the Regional Master Programme in Journalism, Media and Communication. The Programme is offered in cooperation with journalism, photojournalism and media & communication studies institutions in Bangladesh, Norway, Nepal and Pakistan. Interested candidates having Bachelor Degree in media, communication,film,Journalism etc, are eligible to apply. Candidates having Bachelor/Masters Degree in other subjects of social science are eligibe to apply if they have 2-3 years of media/communication related work ecperience. Admission materials can be obtained from the office of the Department of Mass Communication and Journalism: Room No. 1012,Arts Building, University of Dhaka, Dhaka-1000. Eligibility of application: 1) Applicants should have secured at least 50% marks in traditional year long system or B+ in semester grading system at Bachelor level. No third division at any level would be entertained. 2)Candidates already having a Master Degree in relevant subject (media, communication, journalism, film etc.) need not to apply. 3)Applicants from other social science disciplines must have 2-3 years of relevent work experience. 4)Granted leave of absence from the employers. 5) Age not exceed 30 years. 6) Citizens of Bangladesh. Programme Features: 1) Two Year long Master Programme[Combining both theoretical/practical learning and Thesis (Project/Practicum)]. 2) Course will be offere by local and foreign faculty members. 3) Medium of Instruction: English 4)Part of course/courses/as well as study trip will be held at partner institutions in the region. 5) Full scholarship will be provided by NORAD 6) Full time programme- no other work involvement will be allowed 7) Programme starts: July/August 2010 Rule applies for selection of candidates: 1) Candidates will be selected based on written and oral test. 2) If there are too many applicants for the written test, only short-listed candidates will be given the opportunity to sit for the written test.
